Fall Out Boy are on track to Save Rock And Roll with their new album, but could their album chart hopes be dashed by Canadian crooner Michael Buble? The current iTunes chart suggests so...
Buble has shot to the top of the download charts with his new collection, To Be Loved, leaving the US rockers currently placing at No.2 in the chart. Last week's chart topper, Paramore's self-titled album, drops to No.6 in the iTunes Top Ten.
Kid Cudi's new album Indicud is new at No.9 on the iTunes Top Ten, and Daft Punk's Random Access Memories is at No.12 - over a month before a release. The album is outselling albums by the likes of Justin Timberlake, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and many more on pre-sale numbers alone.
Daft Punk's previous albums are all inside the iTunes Top 200, with Discovery at No.60, Human After All at No.163, Homework at No.193 and hits collection Musique Vol.1 at No.200.
Buble is set to hit No.1 this week after topping the iTunes chart
Fall Out Boy have recently hinted at a return to the UK for a string of Christmas gigs, after their summer show at Reading & Leeds festivals.
Speaking to Gigwise, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz said, "Yeah, we didn't know at the time, I think that we knew they had just booked a trip for us, but it turns out we're just doing TV [in the UK], so."
However, fans don't have to despair, as he did go on to say that Fall Out Boy could be planning a return to the UK in time for Christmas.
"[Reading and Leeds] is the only one that's on the books right now," he continued. "But I feel like we've gotten more support over here than we expected in any way, it's been such a great reaction on the radio and with kids so we will be [returning].
"I think we've never done, like, the Christmastime shows and that kind of stuff, I'm sure those are on the dockets."
