Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding has been given a six month driving ban after she was arrested in Central London earlier this month for using a mobile phone while at the wheel of her car.
The blonde star appeared at Highbury Corner magistrates court today (16 April 2013) to answer charges stemming from a road incident on 4 April 2013. The singer is going for a full house on her driving license, as she already had nine points on her driving license stemming back to 2010 when she received three speeding tickets.
Harding's celebrity status brought her no favour with judge Nina Tempia, who told the court she was 'a normal person', and that her role in the chart topping girlband would neither benefit or hinder her defence.
"He [Harding's lawyer Nick Freeman] is asking the court to deal with you as opposed to a normal person," Tempia told the court. "Well, you are a normal person. I can see no reason why you shouldn't be disqualified."

Harding has been banned from driving for six months due to the mobile phone charges, but charges of failing to stop for police were dropped after it was revealed that it would have been unsafe for the singer to pull over for police.
The 'Love Machine' singer was stoppedr on Charing Cross Road in Central London after being spotted talking on the phone while driving. She had claimed she was lost while on her way to a business meeting.
