US President Barack Obama has responded to criticism of Beyonce and Jay-Z's trip to Cuba, after Jay-Z released his track 'Open Letter'.
The pair were criticised for their trip to Cuba, as the US government restricts tourist travel to the country, which led Jay-Z to release a track in response titled 'Open Letter'. The lyrics included the lines, "Obama said, 'Chill, you're going to get me impeached'/ You don't need this s**t anyway, chill with me on the beach," which addressed the Cuba issue.
The White House recently denied that Obama had anything to do with the trip, with press secretary Jay Carney telling the media, "I guess nothing rhymes with Treasury... because Treasury offers and gives licenses for travel, as you know, and the White House has nothing to do with it."
Despite that, President Obama has now personally spoken about the issue, in an interview with US show Today.
"I wasn't familiar that they were taking the trip," the President said. "My understanding is that they went through a group that organizes these educational trips down to Cuba. This is not something that the White House was involved with. We've got better things to do.

Jay-Z is apparently planning to spend $2million on a private island in the Bahamas, so he isn't likely to be returning to Cuba for his holidays any time soon.
A source told the Sun: "Jay's been looking for a private island for the family. He's getting it partly to mark their fifth wedding anniversary but also, with Bey back in the spotlight, it's getting impossible for them to do normal things such as go to the beach with Blue.
"A private island means they'll be able to have quality time with minimum staff and security. He wants to turn it into his own Necker Island like Richard Branson."
