Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan has taken a swipe at Glastonbury boss Michael Eavis for not asking the band to perform at this year's festival.
Meighan believes Kasabian are 'just as good, if not better' than Glastonbury 2013's headline acts Mumford & Sons, Arctic Monkeys and the Rolling Stones.
He told NME: "I’m not playing second fiddle to those bands. We’re just as good, if not better.
“We’re the ultimate, we’re the headline band. But he didn’t call us, the b**tard. Glastonbury’s on our ‘to-do’ list. All he’s got to do is pick up the phone.
“We’ve got every f**king right to headline Glastonbury ’cos we’re good enough. It will happen.”
Kasabian have been working on their new album which Meighan promises will be the 'most aggressive thing' they've done as a band.
Mumford & Sons will be headlining Glastonbury 2013
He continued, "It’s the most aggressive thing we’ve done. Velociraptor! was like a pop album but this is much more extreme.
“We’ll get it done by October then take it to be polished. Maybe put a single out in November and get on the road in January.
“Serge, he’s a workaholic. He’s the driving force. I’ve heard the demos and they’re f**king raunchy and heavy riffy in the vein of Fast Fuse and Underdog."
