N-Dubz rapper Dappy claims a recently released video, which shows the chart topper with white powder on his nose, is merely the result of a practical joke involving talcum powder.
The 25-year-old was taped by other guests at the hotel as he stumbled around the corridors of the Cadbury House Hotel, near Bristol, at 11am muttering incoherently, in a video which has appeared on The Sun newspaper's website.
The rapper had made a guest appearance on Saturday night in Weston-super-Mare, and later tweeted a picture of himself clutching a bottle of vodka.
Guests at the hotel say Dappy and his entourage arrived at the hotel at around 1am.
Laura Ford, from Bristol, told The Sun that she spotted the rapper while she was preparing for check out on Sunday morning.
"We saw his head poking out of the door and we started calling him and he came out," she told the newspaper. "Maids were cleaning the rooms and he kept walking into the rooms and shouting for someone called Ryan.
"He had this white powder on his nose. We couldn't tell what it was and my mate asked him if he'd been kissing a snooker cue. He kept asking the maid to open his door again. He was stumbling around - it went on for about 20 minutes."
When the guests asked him if he was OK, the rapper simply replied "I'm drunk."
In a statement from Dappy's lawyer, made on the rapper's behalf, he said: "After performing on Saturday night, a whole load of mates came back to my hotel.
"Some girls there were messing about with make-up and talcum powder trying to make me look like Tony Montana from Scarface. What you can see on my face is talcum powder."
