They might be the biggest boyband in the world at the moment, but apparently One Direction’s Zayn Malik ‘can’t dance'.

Brian Friedman, creative director on The X Factor, worked with the group during their time on the show and says Zayn doesn’t have what it takes to be a dancer.

Speaking with Heat he said: “He’s got rhythm, he can’t learn choreography. He gets really intimidated and scared and can’t remember it.”

But Zayn’s not the only one, with Friedman saying he doesn’t rate any of the lads’ dance moves and suggesting they “stick to what they do best and that’s making girls swoon and singing.”

Asked whether the boys should undertake more dance routines, Friedman said: “Absolutely not. They didn’t do too well with dancing when I was working with them.

“It’s not that they can’t handle it - some are better than others, no names to be mentioned - but it’s not what they’re about. They’re not a dancey boyband kind of thing, they’re just about youth and exuberance and making girls swoon.”

But their problems with dance moves don’t seem to have held the boys back at all, as they’ve gone on to be an international success, touring the world and with number ones in dozens of countries.

The boys are now preparing to release their 3D documentary.
