Pharrell Williams performed his Daft Punk collaboration, ‘Get Lucky’, last night for the launch of HTC’s The One.

The singer performed an exclusive show for the technology brand, held in Brooklyn’s House of Vans, but sung over a backing track rather than being accompanied by the robots and Nile Rodgers.

Fans eagerly awaiting the new Daft Punk record got their first proper taste of the new single at last week’s Coachella festival when the duo premiered a clip of themselves with Pharrell and Nile Rodgers performing the track.

The full version of the track was made available for purchase yesterday and promptly rocketed to the top of iTunes charts around the world.

The HTC performance saw Pharrell perform an 11-minute rendition of the track, accompanied by a DJ.

Ahead of the show he told Vibe: “It’s the robots. Everything they do is a big deal. Everything they do is so huge and becomes a wonder of the world. For me, it’s just an honour to do something with them.”

In an recent interview Pharrell admitted he’d have been happy playing tambourine if it meant he could contribute to the new Daft Punk record.
