Daft Punk's comeback track 'Get Lucky' has broken Spotify records, becoming the most-streamed song in one day after it's official premiere last week (19 April 2013).

The French duo have been teasing snippets of the track for months and have rightfully used 'Get Lucky' as the teaser for their eagerly awaited fourth studio album Random Access Memories which is due for release on May, 2013.

The track itself has scored the most single day streams in the US and UK as well as acheiving the greatest number of first day global streams in Spotify history.

Will Hope, director of label relations at Spotify, said: "There was never any doubt that the first original single from Daft Punk in years was going to be one of the biggest debut singles of 2013.

"The robots have once again shown themselves to be true innovators, not only with their new musical direction and the stellar cast of collaborators they're working with, but also by undertaking one of the best album campaigns we've seen for some time."

Daft Punk's comeback single has also stormed to the top of the iTunes single charts and looks set to keep the No.1 spot for this weekend's official chart announcement.

Random Access Memories isn't due to be released for another month, but is already sitting comfortably at No.4 in the iTunes albums chart as fans have rushed to pre-order the record ready for its May 20 release.

Hope added: "We expect the album to become one of the biggest, if not the biggest, on Spotify this year."

Pharrell Williams recently performed 'Get Lucky' at a mobile phone launch in New York, but unfortunately was only accompanied by the backing tracking rather than Nile Rodgers and Daft Punk.

Ahead of the show, Williams told Vibe: "It’s the robots. Everything they do is a big deal. Everything they do is so huge and becomes a wonder of the world. For me, it’s just an honour to do something with them."
