Manic Street Preachers fans will get a chance to see a full-length screening of a documentary Culture, Boredom and Despair for the first time in May.

The documentary, made by film-maker Kieran Evans and long-term Manics collaborator Robin Turner, was intended to be a 20-minute DVD extra to go with last year's Generation Terrorist reissue box set.

In May the full 76-minute version will be shown at the Hackney Picture House, featuring archive footage, TV clips, artwork and band photos from their personal archives.

The showing is part of a new monthly series organised by Heavenly Films, with the Manics documentary being shown on May 2.

The Welsh rockers also recently revealed that they're working on a new song called 'Four Lonely Roads' with folk singer Cate Le Bon, posting the latest update from their recording studio at the end of March.

Fans can catch the band live at Festival No. 6 this summer

The group are currently holed up working on recording their next studio album, said to have a kraut-rock vibe and being recorded in the Berlin studio where Bowie recorded Heroes.

This summer the band are set to headline Festival No. 6, joining James Blake, Everything Everything, I Am Kloot and AlunaGeorge at the Portmeirion event in September.
