The 1975, one of the most hyped new bands of 2013, have unveiled a new video for their most recent single 'The City'. Check it out below.
Shot in the band's typical monochrome, the video sees the band members hammering away at their instruments surrounded by darkness, accompanied by various other figures.
Two men find themselves in confrontation and break into a fist fight, two lovers fall into each other's arms and a troubled looking tattooed girl smokes and strips to the soundtrack of The 1975's representation of what city life entails.
The video is a smooth continuation of the moody stylishness that's made The 1975 such an attractive prospect to so many people.
Speaking to Gigwise frontman Matty Healy explained the track: "We genuinely did not expect our popularity to accelerate in the way it did after we released 'Sex' and 'Chocolate' - so we thought it was very important that we took this early opportunity to expose as many people as possible to music that we feel defines us.

"'The City' was the first piece of music that anybody could have ever heard by The 1975, so it's very important to us. I think there's a lot to be said about us in that song both sonically, musically and personally."
The 1975 will be playing the Gigwise-hosted second stage on the Friday of Kendal Calling this year, alongside Nina Nesbitt and Theme Park.
