Fans of JLS are unsurprisingly upset over the news of the band's decision to split, but now singer Oritsé Williams has broken down on Alan Carr's Chatty Man.
Williams had to be comforted by bandmate Marvin Humes when the group appeared on the Channel 4 chat show to talk about their decision to call it a day.
The tears began to flow when Aston Merrygold admitted that "reservations were had" about the decision not to commit to a new five-album deal.
"It's real for us you know, even Oritsé's reaction," Aston explained. "We've been through a hell of a lot... we don't want to get pushed out of the industry, we want to obviously go out with a bang."
Bandmate JB Gill added: "It's Oritsé's baby effectively you know, he brought us together."
When Carr asked if Williams had been against the split he replied: "It is what it is, I guess. The decision was made and we all felt it was the right thing to do."
Explaining the emotional outburts he said: "It's only because I saw the fans literally as we were coming in to see you and just seeing them cry and seeing them upset really evoked that emotion in me.
JLS have enjoyed more than half a decade of chart success
"But you know, it is a celebration. At the end of the day we've had an amazing six years together. We've been on a journey.
"Nobody else may have seen the hard times as well as the good times, but we're the luckiest four boys in the world."
JLS will play a goodbye tour in December, and also plan to release a Greatest Hits album late in 2013.
