Daft Punk have this week finally hit the UK No.1 with their Pharrell Williams collaboration, 'Get Lucky' - the first British chart topper in nearly 20 years in music.
The song is the electronic duo's first single in eight years, and knocked Rudimental's 'Waiting All Night' off the top spot. Before 'Get Lucky', their best UK chart position was No. 2, which they managed in 2000 with 'One More Time'.
The hit made it to No. 3 last week after just 48 hours of being in the charts, but the extra time made sure that it hit the top spot this week. Rudimental fell to No. 2, with Will.i.am's Justin Bieber collaboration 'ThatPower' was at No. 3.
Calvin Harris' 'I Need Your Love' featuring Ellie Goulding made it to No. 4, and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' 'Can't Hold Us' is at No. 5.
In the album chart, Emeli Sande broke a record previously held by The Beatles, as her debut album Our Version Of Events made it to 63 weeks in the Top 10. Please Please Me was the previous debut album to hold the record, as it spent 62 weeks in the Top 10, but has now been outdone by Sande.
Sande has achieved a new record with her debut album
Sande said, "It feels quite surreal to even have your name mentioned in the same sentence as The Beatles. For a record to stay there for so long it means that people have connected with it so that's how I'm enjoying celebrating this record."
Michael Buble's To Be Loved is at No. 1, with Frank Turner's Tape Deck Heart at No. 2. Will.i.am's Willpower is at No. 3, with Nos. 4 and 5 belonging to Pink's The Truth About Love and Emeli Sande's Our Version Of Events respectively.
