Simon Cowell apparently wanted Alesha Dixon to consider taking a judging role on The X Factor.
Despite currently appearing on Britain's Got Talent, Simon Cowell approached Alesha for the role on The X Factor, saying that he thought she had what it takes to be a judge on the show.
In an episode of Britain's Got More Talent, presenter Stephen Mulhern asks Alesha while in a car with her if the rumours are true. "How true is it that Simon asked you to be a judge on X Factor?" he asks.
Alesha responds, "You’re such a cheeky one! No, Simon mentioned that he thought I could do the job and that was it really."
Stephen keeps pushing Alesha for an answer, asking if she'd switch shows given the opportunity, until she says, "Stop asking me these questions! I don’t know. At this point I want to make a record."
Could Alesha be swapping her BGT desk for an X Factor one?
Earlier in the interview, Stephen had asked Alesha what was next for her - and she hinted at a return to music.
"Good question!" she told him. "There are so many things I would love to do. It’s funny, even though I was in Mis-teeq for eight years and I had an incredible time promoting The Alesha Show record, I still feel slightly unsatisfied as an artist."
