Yeah Yeah Yeahs have always taken a degree of pleasure in shocking or otherwise upsetting the indie masses, and the new video for sigle 'Mosquito' is likely to prevoke a reacton or two. Check it out below.

The video itself is a very simple concept, but is one that will make your skin crawl and hold you gaze as you watch a mosquito, magnified, suck the blood from a boy's hand.

In the corner of the screen is a thunbnail of the young boy's face as he appears to enjoy the band's new single, unaware of the insect going to town on his hand.

For the majority of the video it's hard to tell if this is an animation or in fact actual footage of a mosquito going about it's parasetic ways, slowing inflating with blood.

But as the song reaches its climax the bug begins to pulsate in techni-colour as the boy's blood throbs purple.

When the insect is final squashed you can't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

The anatomically accurate grotesque-ness of the video is perfectly in-keeping with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' style and attitude towards their work.

In the video for 'Sacrilege' a story unfolds in reverse of a promiscuous young girl being burnt at the stake by a group of outraged, and some slightly aroused, townspeople.
