Kanye West angered the organisers of the MET Ball by performing a number of unheard tracks at the gala event and reportedly screeching the lyrics rather than rapping them.

The 'All Of The Lights' rapper attended the star-studded event accompanied by his pregnant fiancee Kim Kardashian, and was one of the musical stars to take to the stage to entertain other guests.

Sporting a bejewelled mask Kanye performed after Blondie, who played a set of their most popular tracks, but apparently started screaming according to one onlooker.

The source told the New York Post: "He played all new tracks that no one knew from his new album, and none of the crowd favourites. His songs were basically screeching into the microphone."

Another attendee suggested that the performance was not part of the plan, and that organisers woud've been surprised by the rappers delivery.

"Every minute of that gala is programmed, and Kanye went off-programme and played whatever he wanted," one reveller said.

But a reprsentative for the MET (The Metropolitan Museum Of Art) insisted that there was no issue with the 'Mercy' rapper's performance.

"We were thrilled to have Kanye perform," the representative said.

We could find out what the new record sounds like as soon as next month

Daft Punk are among the superstar collaborators on the new record, and Thomas Bangalter recently described seeing West in the studio working on the new record.

"He was rapping - kind of screaming primally," the dance pioneer said.

"Kanye doesn't give a f**k," Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo added.

Other rumoured collaborators on the album include Skrillex and members of Odd Future.

Judging by West's post on his recently reactivated Twitter account, "June Eighteen", the new album could arrive as soon as next month.
