Nick Grimshaw has shrugged Robbie Williams' recent criticisms, when the 'Candy' chart-topper hit out at the presenter during a rant about Radio One banning his No.1 single.

Robbie hit out at the BBC Radio 1 DJ while playing a set at the awards event, saying that he was a 'b*stard' for not playing Robbie's single 'Candy' - as Radio 1 thought that he was too old to appeal to their listeners.

There's no bad feeling, though, as Nick is definitely still a fan of the singer. According to The Sun, Nick said, "I think he was so funny. I love him and he’s really cool. He should have his own radio show. I’d have him on every morning."

He did add that Robbie's grudge was misplaced, saying, "It's all nonsense - my show played 'Candy' twice."

At the event, Robbie said during his set, "I did the Brits and started singing, 'Hey-ho, here we go' to a bunch of industry people and they were all just like, 'F**k off, you’re fat and you’re old. And Radio 1 don’t play you no more – you’re fat and you’re old'."

He then looked at Nick Grimshaw before adding, "Isn't that right, Nick, you b*stard?"

Robbie also made a joke about Operation Yewtree, which is the investigation into the allegations of child sex abuse at the BBC.

He said, "I came here and looked around and thought, 'I’m the only person I recognise here tonight'. It’s like looking at the cast of Operation Yewtree 2014. Ooh – too soon, too soon?"

Too old for Radio One! Who joined Robbie on the irrelevant list?
