The Flaming Lips appeared naked on American TV this week (Wednesday May 15th), performing both their new single and a cover of David Bowie’s 'Heroes'. Watch the performance below.
Wayne Coyne and co. surprised the audience of ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ by taking to the stage naked, with only a series of fluorescent light tubes covering the frontman’s modesty in a set up that resembled a sci-fi flick.
As if their appearance wasn’t strange enough already, a fully clothed Coyne then returned as a guest after the band’s performance to play Pictionary with Demi Lovato and Modern Family’s Julie Bowen.

The Oklahoma veterans have been making headlines in recent months after the NSFW video for ‘You Lust’ hit the web in April, taken off the band’s 16th album ‘The Terror’.
Coyne also recently revealed in a Reddit ‘Ask Me Anything’ interview that The Flaming Lips were working on a collaborative album with Ke$ha, titled ‘Lip$ha’ which is due for release later this year.
The Flaming Lips will be playing two shows at London’s Roundhouse next week (20-21st May), whilst also making an appearance at Bestival in September. For more information visit Gigwise Tickets.
