Justin Bieber reportedly owes thousands of euros to the German animal shelter where his pet monkey, Mally, was taken after being seized by customs earlier this year.
Mally the monkey is being looked after at a Munich animal shelter, but is now set for a move to either a zoo or park as Bieber has failed to collect Mally and has missed the deadline for collection.
Manager of the animal shelter, Heinz Joachim has stated that he will be looking to be reimbursed for the care of Mally which he believes amounts to several thousand euros.
Joachim also criticised Bieber for buying a capuchin monkey as they are social animals and should live in groups with other monkeys of their kind.
He told the Associated Press: "The best thing would be not to buy one at all, but if you do, buy five ... You can bet we're going to ask for the money back."
Justin Bieber has missed the deadline to collect his monkey, Mally
Mally was taken from Bieber as the singer failed to produce the correct import papers and vaccinations when he tried to bring the monkey into Germany during his world tour.
Although Mally looks set for a nice new home, a spokesperson from Munch customs has revealed that as Mally's owner, Bieber must be contacted before any final decision is made.
Thomas Meister said: "Our contact is the person that the monkey belongs to .. We've had contact with lots of people but none of them was an authorised representative."
