Daft Punk weren’t joking when they said there’d be no live shows this year, and allegedly even turned down an offer to Glastonbury 2013 despite the massive respect there is to be earned by playing the event.
At the start of 2013 Daft Punk were among the favourites to be announced for the massive festival event, but have always insisted they are not touring this year.
Entertainmentwise reports that despite the kudos there is to be gained by playing Glastonbury, one of the biggest festivals in the world, the duo declined.
Thomas Bangalter recently told the Daily Star: “There are no plans for live shows right now.
“Our focus over the last five years has been this album and we wanted people to focus purely on the record. We waned to put as much magic into a piece of audio, that’s why we are not touring.”
The duo are currently riding high in the charts, with ‘Get Lucky’, one of two collaborations with Pharrell Williams on the new album, holding tight in the No. 1 spot for several weeks
