Taylor Swift was the big winner at this year's Billboard Awards, scooping eight trophies at the annual awards bash in Las Vegas on Sunday, 19 May 2013.
The star attended the bash to collect her new silverware, picking up awards for Top Female Artist, Top Country Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album (for her release Red) - among others.
UK boyband One Direction also enjoyed an awards sweep, picking up wins for Top Group and Top Pop Artist, Rihanna picked up trophies for Top R&B Artist and Top Radio Songs Artist, while Justin Bieber was named Top Male Artist and Top Social Artists - for his online presence, not getting into fights with photographers.
Swift poked fun at media discussion of her personal life, telling the audience as she collected her awards: "You are the longest and best relationship I ever had."
Justin Bieber urged critics to ease off on the negative press that has surrounded him recently, saying: "I'm 19 years old; I think I'm doing a pretty good job. And basically from my heart I really just want to say it should really be about the music, it should be about the craft that I'm making. This is not a gimmick."
"I'm an artist and I should be taken seriously and all this other bull should not be spoken."
Prince was awards the Billboard Icon Award at the show.
