Daft Punk have scored an inevitable iTunes chart topper with their hugely anticipated album, Random Access Memories, and are set to topple Rod Stewart from No.1 in the official chart this week.
Random Access Memories is out now, and after months of anticipation, has shot straight to No.1 on iTunes after hours of being on sale. The French duo's fourth studio album hits the top spot ahead of new releases from 30 Seconds To Mars, The National and Demi Lovato - all of whom enter inside the iTunes Top Ten.
Random Access Memories is tipped to become one of the biggest selling albums in the UK ever, with bookmakers Paddy Power offering odds of 4/5 that it will becomes the fastest selling release in UK chart history. The current record for fastest selling album in its first week is held by Oasis, who sold 600,000 copies of their 1997 album ‘Be Here Now’ in the seven days after its release.
The bookmaker is also offering 5/1 odds on the album being the biggest selling album of all time by 2015, whilst the odds of the pair touring are currently at 5/2.

A spokesperson for Paddy Power commented on the short odds, saying "We’re expecting big things for the French DJs next week. We only hope that the success doesn’t go straight to their helmets."
On the iTunes singles chart, Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' is set to be toppled from the top spot by Naughty Boy's new single, Sam Smith collaboration, 'La La La'.
