Elton John has been added to this summer's Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time Hyde Park and will headline a huge gig in Central London on 12 July, 2012.
Also on the line-up are Ray Davies of The Kinks and Elvis Costello, while other stages on the day will feature performances from the likes of Nick Low, Gabrielle Aplin, Lucy Rose and Bombay Bicycle Club, Del Amitri, To Kill A King, Thea Gilmore and more.
The show is part of the Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time gigs, which already boast performances from Bon Jovi on 5 July and Rolling Stones on 6 and 13 July 2013.
Tickets for Elton John's Hyde Park show go on sale at 9am oin Thursday, 23 May 2013. The Rolling Stones 13 July gig is already sold out.
Elton John has a busy summer ahead of him - as he will also perform his first ever headline festival slot at Bestival in September of 2013.

Speaking to The Guardian of his Bestival performance, he said, "I haven't played any of the major festivals in the UK in recent years, so when the opportunity to play Bestival came up I was very interested.
"Bestival seems to be more of a people's festival, not too big, and very friendly - I like the idea of that."
