Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchinson has praised The National’s new album Trouble Will Find Me, commending its ‘instant’ nature.

Hutchinson's praise comes after Frightened Rabbit have been confirmed to support The National on their forthcoming North American dates, and will head around the US with the band in September.

Hutchinson, who in the past has named The National as an influence told Gigwise: ‘I Love it, it’s grown on me quicker than any of their other records, even faster than their last one. I got it on Monday and then had a long train journey, and by the end of the trip it grabbed me, which is strange because the impact of their albums usually seeps in slowly’.

The singer/songwriter continued ‘I also think the lyrics are less veiled, they’re much more direct and less metaphoric, which is really interesting’.

Frightened Rabbit will also be making a variety of festival appearances this summer, including T In The Park, Reading and Leeds, Radio 1’s Big Weekend and End of the Road. For more information visit Gigwise Tickets.
