This week saw Boards Of Canada unveil the first track from their forthcoming album Tomorrow's Harvest, and 'Reach For The Dead' reminded everyone that the Scottish outfit are at the top of the pile when it comes to downtempo ambience.

And it's a good thing too, because while it's great to come across a record that really gets you going, the albums you listen to to relax and unwind are often the ones you return to the most.

Boards Of Canada are some of the best around, but there's no shortage of downbeat records to choose from. Regardless of genre there are some truly beautiful records to pick from when you need to kick back and drift away from the world.
