Rapper Professor Green was lucky to avoid death when he was hit by a car while on his way to a gig last night, and understandably missed his show as a result.
Green was rushed to hospital with a suspected broken leg after being crushed between two Mercedes, The Metro reports, but the rapper believes his accident could have been fatal.
The rapper was due to appear at Hartpury College in Gloucester, but tweeted an apology as paramedics attended to him.
“Not ideal. Someone ran me over. Sorry hartpury #notanelaborateexcuse,” he tweeted.
Green kept his fans and Twitter followers up dated as he sucked on gas and air on the way to hospital.
“Off to the hospital we go. I’m making jokes but I’m in all sorts of discomfort... Probable broken leg...
“Crushed between a @mercedesbenzuk ML63 and an SLS AMG #classy,” he wrote.
But his mood soon soured as he realised the implications of his injury.
“Won’t know until tomorrow if its surgery or not, so f**king depressed.
“No jokes left in me this could hinder and ruin so so much.”
He went onto to speculate about how luck he’d been in the accident, writing “If I’d have fallen when the car hit me I’d be dead. Would have been my head in between the cars.”
Green apparently thinks his bad luck has something to do with the time of year, as it’s nearly exactly four years since he was stabbed in the neck and cheated death for the first time.
Four years ago Green was stabbed in the neck at a club
“Nearly 4 yrs to the day I got stabbed and again a full moon, something about this time of year that brings me badness.”
His attacker recently walked free from jail early.
This morning he was in no joking mood, saying a DHL driver was responsible for the accident, and that he didn’t realise the severity of the accident when he was initally treated.
He also vowed not to risk it next year, saying he’d be wrapping himself in cotton wool and staying at home this time next year,
