Robbie Williams appeared onstage with Dizzee Rascal at Radio 1’s Big Weekend yesterday, despite falling out with the station recently.
Robbie took to the stage to perform his collaboration with Dizzee, ‘Goin’ Crazy’, and Radio 1 seemed eager to move on from the recent spat between Robbie and DJ Nick Grimshaw.
The station tweeted: “er, yes that was actual @robbiewilliams joining @itsdizzeerascal for 1 track before being whisked away! #bigweekend.”
‘Goin’ Crazy’ appears on the current Radio 1 playlist, but station managers decided not to include Robbie’s 2012 song ‘Candy’ .
This in turn led to a spat between Williams and Grimshaw, with the DJ branding the singer too old for their audience. Williams responded during a recent live show with a rant during which he called the DJ a ‘b***ard’.
The Sun reports that the singer insulted the DJ from the stage during a show at the Sony Radio Academy Awards earlier this month. Speaking to the audience he apparently said: “I did the Brits and started singing, ‘Hey-ho, here we go’ to a bunch of industry people and they were all just like, ‘F**k off, you’re fat and you’re old. And Radio 1 don’t play you no more - you’re fat and you’re old.”
He then reportedly added: “Isn’t that right Nick, you b***ard?”

But his appearance at the annual bash, this year held in Londonderry, suggests he’s perhaps ready to forgive and forgot when it comes to Radio 1.
Tonight will see Calvin Harris headline, while tomorrow Biffy Clyro top the bill.
