Following months of hype, Daft Punk last week released new album Random Access Memories to huge sales - and even bigger streaming figures.
The French duo's hugely anticpated 2013 comeback has become the most-streamed first week album in Spotify's history in America, beating Mumford & Sons previous record of 8million streams in one week, set in September 2012.
Daft Punk previously set Spotify records with their No.1 single 'Get Lucky', which was streamed 25million times in four weeks.
Random Access Memories was this week named the fastest selling album of 2013, after it sold 165,000 copies in one week to take an easy No.1 on the UK albums chart - the first in the French duo's 20-year career.
The robotic stars easily beat Michael Buble's 2013 record for first week sales, set earlier this year when his To Be Loved album sold 121,000 copies.
165,000 sold in the UK, 8million streams in the US - it's safe to call RAM a success
However, despite their 2013 success, Daft Punk have maintained that they have no plans to tour the album, despite fan demand to see the duo perform live.
"We spent five years working on this record," Daft Punk told Australian radio station, Triple J. "That’s really the first step by releasing it is we’d like to have people experience the record as the focal point."
