LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy has said that the new Arcade Fire album 'will be really great' after producing a number of tracks for the record.

It was confirmed late last year that the DFA man was in the studio with the Canadian art-rockers, when Arcade Fire's manager confirmed the collaboration along with the news that Markus Dravs was also helping behind the production desk.

Now, in an interview with Rolling Stone, Murphy said: "I think it's going to be a really great record, actually. I'm eager to see it come out."

Speaking of the way he works with the band, Murphy continued: "There's a lot of them, and they're mostly self-produced – like, they don't need a producer in a certain way. So I didn't know how it would go.

"It's always working. It's just that I might have a different way of approaching how to finish, or how to accomplish an end result that really works."

Speaking of the follow-up to 2010's multi-award-winning The Suburbs back in December, Arcade Fire's manager Scott Rodger said: "They're in with James Murphy on three or so songs, plus Markus Dravs who is a long-time collaborator. "They write too many songs - that's a good problem to have. There's around 35 songs with Arcade Fire, two albums'-worth for sure."

James Murphy has been friends with Arcade Fire for many years after spending time on the road together. Win Butler and co. even joined LCD Soundsystem on stage at their final ever show at Madison Square Garden, when Butler told Murphy to "shut up and play the hits" - which went on to become the title of the acclaimed concert movie and documentary.

Earlier this year, band members Regine Cassagne and Win Butler had their first child together.
