The 1975 have revealed that they were forced to turn down support slots with some of the biggest artists on the planet, in order to focus on their own plans.
Speaking to Gigwise, frontman Matt Healy confessed that they had been forced to reject offers from Rihanna, Arctic Monkeys, Fall Out Boy, Kasabian, Paramore and 30 Seconds To Mars, due to having pre-planned their own shows and a US tour with The Neighbourhood.
"We're doing the Rolling Stones, we've supported Muse, we were offered to support Rihanna, Arctic Monkeys, Fall Out Boy, Kasabian, Paramore and 30 Seconds To Mars - all in the past two weeks," said Healy, discussing the band's meteoric rise to success in 2013. "We've had to turn them all down. We've got our own things already planned, we've got shows that kids have already bought tickets for.
"It would be great to go on tour with Rihanna for the fun of it. We've got our own obligations, so we've got to focus on our own output."

Healy also added that the attention the band have already received has made them strive for more, and given them a better understanding of their goals for The 1975.
"The first bits of music we put out got really embraced by the mainstream media outlets, such as the BBC, so that catalysed an acceleration in our popularity, and a progression in understanding of what we wanted to achieve," he says.
