This week saw Coldplay drummer Will Champion guest star in the latest episode of US fantasy drama Game Of Thrones - in the most talked about scene of the current series. Spoilers below!

Fans of the show were sent into a frenzy by the outrageous scenes that unfolded, with fans taking to Twitter to speak of their shock at the deaths of several maor characters in the show.

As the Twitter world sharpens its spears, lights its flaming torches and prepares to go out on the warpath, we take a look at the other tragedies that Coldplay are responsible for.

"I will try to fix you," once harped Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. If only, Chris. Sadly there are some things that just can't be undone.

 1. The death of Rob and Catelyn Stark
SPOILER ALERT: So yeah, drummer Will Champion appears at the wedding of Edmure Tully and Roslin Frey in the recent episode, before the marriage scene ends in betrayal and a bloodbath, as Walder Frey betrays Rob and Catelyn Stark. The band, in which Champion is performing, are revealed to be soldiers. DAMN YOU CHAMPION

2. The demise of Travis
Ah, the late 90s - when flourescent green fleeces, combat trousers and Travis were all the rage. Then came Chris Martin and his larger-than-life approach to post-Britpop, sub-Radiohead stadium indie and the world only had eyes for Coldplay. In 2001, Travis headlined Reading Festival. Next week, they headline London's tiny Islington Assembly Hall :(

3. The rise of Keane
Thank you for paving the way for more Radio 2, lite, bedwetter indie.

4. An increase in biro sales
Even Taylor Swift has been writing 'messages' on the back of her hand. Either get a tattoo or leave that kind of nonsense in sixth form.

5. Dinner party music
Considering that Chris Martin has no nobly dedicated a great deal of time and work to eradicating world hunger, it seems somewhat ironic that his music is the typical inoffensive soundtrack to countless middle-aged, middle-class dinner parties scoffing hor douvres.

6. Reality TV schmaltz
The band's Top Ten hit 'Paradise' has become a standard on reality TV to soundtrack the sobbing success of contestants. "I can't believe I got through the auditions, this means everything..." PARA-PARA-PARA.

7. Gwyneth's gushing
YOU LIKE COLDPLAY. WE GET IT.

8. Killing Beyonce and Jay Z's cool
Ever since Queen Bey and Jay Z were seen regularly hanging out with Gwynny and him off of Coldplay, their cool stock plummetted.
