French star Lescop has revealed how he considers himself an 'outsider' on the French music scene, due to his interest in punk rock rather than electronica sounds.

The 'Les Nuit Americaines' star claims he aimed to do something different when working with London-based producer Johnny Hostile to set him apart from the electronic sounds typical of the French music scene.

"All the French electronic sound is made by the same team and we're the outsiders," says Lescop in an interview with Gigwise. "We wanted to do something different because with all the Ed Banger team, a lot of French bands want to sound like them. We like them, but we didn't want to sound like them.

"Me and Johnny Hostile, we worked on the record, we didn't want to sound like that. We wanted to find something different, look something else," he added, before revealing his influences. "I was a punk rock fan when I was kid - Sex Pistols, Buzzcocks and glam rock stuff like T-Rex."
