Birmingham based indie band Editors have revealed a new taste of their next album, today premiering new track, 'The Sting'. Listen below.
New album The Weight Of Your Love comes after four years of relative quiet from the band, whose previous albums have all reached the Top 3 in the UK Album Charts. 'The Sting' features on the digital bundle of new single 'A Ton of Love', which is to be released on 7" and digitally on 17th June.
The tracks unveiled so far indicate that this album is a return to big, american esque guitar fronted sound, backed by solid drums and bass. Overlayed with repeated shouts and strong phrases it draws on influences of Springsteen, Bunnymen and other classic rock tunes. It's different to their previous work; In This Light And On This Evening, which documented the band's experimentation with electronic and synthesised sounds.
This return to guitar driven sounds backed with beats and melodies show the skills of new members Justin Lockey and Elliot Williams, who joined after Chris Ubaniwicz left the band.

'A Ton Of Love' premièred on Zane Lowe’s Radio One show as his Hottest Record In The World in May 2013 and has been praised by Q as a ‘soaring, Bunnymen influenced anthem’. New album 'The Weight of Love'- to be released 1st July.
The entire album was recorded at Blackbird Studio in Nashville, with Jacquire King, known for his work with Kings of Leon and Of Monsters and Men, most of it recorded live, which helps capture the resonating anthemic sound.
