More about:

Kanye West is reported to be still in the studio working on his upcoming album Yeezus and has enlisted the help of super producer, Rick Rubin, to record more songs.

Not only is he allegedly driving the executives of his record label 'crazy' because of his studio antics, but there have also been problems trying to secure the rights for the use of a vocal track from the Holy Name of Mary Church choir in Chicago, that he included on the track 'On Site'.

In the struggle for lawyers to get legal clearance from the choir directior to use the music, a new version of the vocals was recorded in case the rights couldn't be secured and the My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy singer decided to use the new vocal track in order to avoid future legal cases.

As a source told the New York Post newspaper: "Even by Kanye West standards, this is pushing it."

Despite the hiccups in the Yeezus process, the album is still scheduled for release on June 18.

This weekend, Kanye premiered two new tracks 'I Am A God' and 'On Site' live. See footage of him performing the songs live here

Below - 8 things we want from the new Kanye West album, Yeezus

  • 1. A BIG Daft Punk track: We love the disco sounds of Random Access Memories (we really do), but without the influence of Giorgio Moroder, Nile Rogers and the like, we're hoping Kanye's Daft Punk collaboration will see a return to the squealing, futuristic electronica Daft Punk made their name with at the turn of the century.

  • 2. As little Kim Kardashian as possible: It's very nice that Kanye West is about to become a father with Kim Kardashian and is happy at home. Here's hoping he keeps business and pleasure separate, and doesn't gush too much about his love for the socialite. It's hip-hop we're after, not drip-hop.

  • 3. No politics please: A track that's sincere and un-politically charged in the way Kanye's very earliest releases were. Breakthrough single 'Through The Wire' told a story personal to the rapper, but didn't drag in his opinions about everything else in the world. Political opinion is important, but it'd be nice to have some rest.

  • 4. As little Skrillex as possible: Seriously.

  • 5. Some G.O.O.D. guest spots: Kanye's last solo record featured some understated appearances from the likes of Rick Ross, Big Sean and Chris Rock, who in their own right added depth to the material without overshadowing Kanye, giving the record that 'luxury rap' feel. If he doesn't overdo it on names, some guest spots could really enhance the record.

  • 6. Some 'Big Willie Style': It's been reported that Kanye has been working in Brazil with Will Smith on his upcoming album. Oh, what we'd give for a collaboration - or the dream cover or re-working of The Fresh Prince theme tune: "A couple of guys, they were up to no good..."

  • 7. Something at least half as good as 'Jesus Walks': Come on, how sweet would that be?

  • 8. As little screaming as possible: We're all for experimentation, but Kanye really shines when he raps, and we don't think we can deal with 70 minutes of inaudible screaming. Less is more, Kanye.
