MySpace has celebrated another relaunch, with Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke performing an intimate show for a lucky US audience.
Justin Timberlake, a major shareholder in the social network, took to Twitter to thank both artists for their performances, sharing photos of their performances online. The duo performed together - and were joined by US celebrity Miley Cyrus on stage.
"Shout out to @robinthicke for playing tonight!," said Timberlake on Twitter, after tweeting a shot of Pharrell performing to an small crowd.
Pharrell also stars in a new promotional video for MySpace, in which he parties with the likes of DIIV, Sky Ferreira, Charli XCX, Ryan Hemsworth, Mac Miller, Iggy Azalea and Ciara. See the video below.
Thicke, Williams and Cyrus teamed up for the MySpace gig
The new MySpace was unveiled at the US event on Wednesday 12 June, 2013, with a new focus on mixing social networking with music streams. The goals of the revised site is to help musicans, writers and other artists connect with a new audience online.
"Today more than ever there's this need for a creative ecosystem that kind of caters to the creative community and that's both a social network and the streaming services attached," says owner Tim Vanderhook of the relaunched website.
"For us when we looked at it, we really talked to a lot of artists and ... they all said, `I use all these various platforms but none of them really do what we need.' What they really needed, they explained to us, was a home."
