US dance/r&b star Toro Y Moi has remixed Billie Holiday's jazz classic 'My Man'. Listen to the new version of the track below.
Producer and singer Chaz Bundick has reworked the track for a new compilation, on which the hottest remixers on the planet give new twists to soul classics. Other stars on the album include Flume remixing Marlena Shaw, Maya Jane Coles mixing Ella Fitzgerald and Azari & III tackling Astrud Gilberto/Walter Wanderley Trio.
Toro Y Moi's new remix switches Holiday's soulful vocals for glitchy, sampled sounds, a far cry from the vintage jazz sounds heard on the original track.
The album, Verve Remixed: The First Ladies, will be released on 16 July 2013.
