Download Festival showed no signs of slowing down for its second day, with metal legends Iron Maiden lined up as headliners on the main stage and wealth of other big name acts filling the bill.
One of the most eagerly anticipated sets came from Queens Of The Stone Age, who hit the main stage just before Iron Mainden and played a set comprising new tracks, several songs from their seminal Songs For The Deaf and a couple of tracks from earlier album Rated R and ...Like Clockwork's precessor Era Vulgaris.
Other big performances came from grunge alumni Alice In Chains, Motorhead and their bass legend Lemmy and Chthonic.
