Mumford & Sons bassist Ted Dwane has thanked fans for their support as he recovers from brain surgery.

Dwane took to the band's official website to post a picture of him with a newly shaved head and to say: "Thanks so much for all the well wishing, it seems to be working! I'm home."

The bassist was told he needed to undergo an emergency operation to remove a blood clot last week, causing the band to cancel the rest of their US tour. Jack Johnson filled in for the band's slot at Bonnaroo in Tennessee last weekend.

Mumford & Sons posted a statement on their website on Friday to update fans on Dwane's recovery, saying: "On behalf of Ted and all of us really, we would like to thank every one for their compassion and support at this time and we are very excited to get back out on tour as soon as we can."
