Funk and hip-hop heroes The Roots have given 'Get Lucky' by Daft Punk a comedy makeover by covering the hit single in the style of 'The Black Simon and Garfunkel'. See a video of their performance below.

The Roots are the house band on US TV show Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Performing on the show, band members ?uestlove and 'Captain' Kirk Douglas gave the Daft Punk No.1 a funny, folky re-working with a few Simon and Garfunkel twists at the request of a viewer.

The song has been covered more than a few times since it was released, with noteable renditions coming from Daughter and San Cisco.

Last month, it was reported that The Roots and Elvis Costello have joined forces for collaborate on a new full-length album Wise Up Ghost, due for release on 17 September on the legendary Blue Note Records.

Roots man ?uestlove said of the record: "It's a moody, brooding affair, cathartic rhythms and dissonant lullabies. I went stark and dark on the music, Elvis went HAM on some ole Ezra Pound shit.”
