After a big show at Wembley this weekend and more festivals to come, The Killers have revealed they're going to take a hiatus before their next release.

In a recent interview with the Daily Star, drummer Ronnie Vannucci talked about their busy schedule and how the band's family commitments need to be taken into consideration now.

Vannucci said that guitarist Dave Keuning wanted to take time off because he wanted to spend more time with his family.

"We all totally respect that, because making and touring an album takes two-and-a-half years of solid work around the world - more if it goes really well." He went on to say that the promotion of the album, not the making it is the difficult part as, "that takes you away from your family and that's tough."

The drummer mentioned his solo plans if The Killers take a long break. "I might make another solo album, or if Queens Of The Stone Age's drummer ever falls ill, I'll fight for a spot with those guys."

"I just want to make music, because it's a gift and you don't get to do it for ever - you get fat and ugly soon enough."

The Killers only remaining UK festival date is T in the Park in July, so catch them before their hiatus from the music world.
