Lady Gaga is number one on the Forbes 2013 'Most Powerful Musicians' list. The news comes after rumours last week that she would be named 'Woman of the Year' by Rolling Stone Magazine.
The 'Born This Way' star claimed the top spot based on a combination of earnings, social media and press mentions.
Social media alone is one of Lady Gaga's strong point; she has a huge social media following of her 'little monsters' which make up over 90 million fans of the star across Facebook and Twitter.
Beyonce and Madonna scooped up second and third place respectively, with Taylor Swift earning fourth and Bon Jovi gaining fifth.

Lady Gaga is expected to release her third studio album, ARTPOP, later this year. In an interview with Rolling Stone, her producer Zedd said they had embraces an 'experimental approach' to making music together.
