Michael Jackson's eldest son Prince Jackson has revealed in court his father's fears that the rehearsals for his This Is It tour would be the death of him.
Prince Jackson told the court of witnessing his father in tears after talks with AEG Live chief executive Randy Phillips, just days before the anticipated planned O2 comeback gigs.
After his father would get off the phone from conversations with Phillips, Prince continued to say that Jackson would say, ‘They’re going to kill me, they’re going to kill me".
The eldest son is testifying in a lawsuit, accusing concert promoter AEG Live LLC of negligently hiring Dr Conrad Murray. Who was responsible for giving Jackson an overdose of the anaesthetic propofol and who later was convicted of involuntary manslaughter.
With AEG denying hiring the physician and refusing to bear any responsibility for the entertainers death. Prince claims he witnessed Phillips in a heated conversation with Murray just days before his father’s death. Testifying, "it looked aggressive to me". He continued to say that Jackson had requested more time to rehearse, unhappy with the pressure that followed from the 50 show scheduled tour This Is It, which his comeback demanded.
As Murray's lawyer Valerie Wass and AEG defence lawyer Marvin S.Putnam denied outside the court that the meeting never happened. Putnam has said Prince would now be re-called to the witness stand later in the trail. "I think as the testimony will show when he is called in our defence that's not what happened," Putnam said. Sympathising he continued to add, "He was a 12-year-old boy who has had to endure this great tragedy."
Prince's raw testimony covered accounts of his family life and even the moving description of the frantic efforts he witnessed to revive his father; who died four years ago on 25th June 2009.
"Nothing will ever be the same," the teen admitted whilst remaining composed and reciting how his younger brother doesn't totally realise the loss and that his sister has had the hardest time of them all.
With the trail in its 9th week, Prince was the first Jackson family member to testify with his cousins TJ and Taj Jackson, Tito Jackson's sons, have since testified.
