Electronic music duo Disclosure have hit back at certain sections of the American media for being to quick to compare them to the likes of David Guetta and Avicii.

The brothers, Guy and Howard Lawrence recently scored the No.1 album slot in the UK with debut record Settle, but believe their music shouldn't be compared to that of other EDM artists.

When asked about the Guetta comparisons, Guy Lawrence said: "We're not part of that scene at all. We like a bit of class in our music. We didn't want our album to just be an hour of relentless house. The idea was to combine that with club stuff and connect with a wider audience."

American rapper Azealia Banks recently confirmed that she had been working with the Surrey duo as she tweeted: "Just had an amazing session with @disclosure!!!!". The pair have already produced huge hits with the likes of AlunaGeorge, Eliza Doolittle and London Grammar.

However, Disclosure played down the rumours of a Banks collaboration as they revealed they have only met the rapper once.

They told Dutch radio station 3Voor12: "We don’t have a song with her yet. We’ve met her once.

"I think she’s kind of taken to Twitter quite heavily with the fact that she’s meeting with us. And people now think that we’ve made the greatest song of all time, and it doesn’t even actually have a chorus yet."
