Bastille have spoken out about their recent support slots opening for Muse on their recent European stadium tour - saying that it made it made them look 'rubbish' in comparison.

Speaking to Gigwise backstage at Glastonbury this weekend, the four-piece said that to play with Matt Bellamy and co was a very 'humbling' experience.

When asked what they learned from playing with Muse, frontman Dan Smith responded: "That stadiums are massive! And that lots of people are cool!" before keyboardist Kyle Simmons added: "And that we definitely aren't good at music."

Dan continued: "Those gigs were something that we never thought we'd do so we just went along to enjoy it, and Muse are really good guys. It was a really interesting line-up and the crowds were great but when you're playing with Muse it puts it all into perspective - everyone was there to see them do what they do best. We were at the bottom of the bill, which is where we completely belong to be but it was fun. We were constantly looking around thinking 'this is mental'."

When quizzed on whether or not the experience made Bastille set their sights on headlining stadiums themselves in the future, Dan answered: "No. I was saying to Woody that I can't imagine anything further away. We're playing two nights at Brixton Academy which is way bigger than anything I thought we'd be capable, but we take it one step at a time."

Bastille play a string of festival dates this summer before a full UK tour in October and November. For more information visit Gigwise gig tickets
