Bernie Nolan, famous for her role in hit girl group, The Nolans with her sisters, has passed away after a battle with cancer.
The Nolans were famous for hits such as 'I'm in the Mood for Dancing' and 'Don't Make Waves'. Nolan led the six-strong girl group for 20 years before turning to acting with roles in The Bill and Channel 4's Brookside under her belt. Bernie was the youngest of the sisters.
Nolan was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 but received an all-clear in 2012. However, months later the disease returned and spread to her brain, bones, lungs and liver.
Despite The Nolans finishing as a girl group in the 90s, the girl group are still celebrated now. In 2009 the sisters reunited for a UK tour with sister Coleen, who appears on ITV1's Loose Women describing it as "a real girls' night".
