Ahead of The Rolling Stones concert in Hyde Park this weekend, huge model oak trees have been planted on top of the stage in order to recreate the first time the Stones played Hyde Park in 1969.

The stage is adorned with 70ft high oak trees and about 10,000 branches have been attached to make the stage blend in.

Apparently the iconic band wanted to recreate the woodland of Hyde Park that was there when they played 44 years ago. Many of the original trees have been cleared and replanted since but this hasn't stopped Mick and the gang from creating their own.

The British Summer Time series running in Hyde Park this summer includes two dates by The Rolling Stones. The Stones' show on Saturday is almost exactly to the day that was the band's first show there in 1969. Two days before the '69 show, former bandmate Brian Jones tragically drowned in a swimming pool at his home. Jagger commemorated Jones by releasing 2,000 white butterflies.

The Rolling Stones will be supported by indie rockers The Vaccines and The Temper Trap. The line up for British Summer Time includes Bon Jovi, JLS, Elton John and Lionel Richie & Jennifer Lopez.
