Recently Jay-Z came under fire from producer Hudson Mohawk saying that the hip hop megastar had played it safe on his new album Magna Carta Holy Grail by sticking to big name producers, but also included among the producer credits on the new album is a virtually unheard of 16-year-old Canadian.

‘Crown’ features a credit for Ebony Oshunrinde, otherwise known as WondaGurl. The producers beat found it’s way to Jay-Z after she sent it to G.O.O.D. Music artists and Jay-Z collaborator Travis Scott, who appears on the track which features her beat.

Scott played the beat to Jay-Z while he was working in the studio with the rapper, texting the young producer later to say Hov was interested.

“He texted me and said, ‘I’m about to change your life’,” Oshunrinde told local paper The Star.

“Usually that doesn’t happen to 16-year-olds.”

But despite the momentous career boost Oshunrinde still has to wait until the album’s official release to hear it, though she admits the guest spot has opened her career up to higher profile collaborations.
