'Bounce' star Iggy Azalea, who was among the numerous acts at this year's Glastonbury festival, believes it's unlikely we'll see another hip-hop headliner as she feels like the Worthy Farm festival doesn't support rap music.

Azalea performed on the Sonic stage at this year’s Glasto, alongside fellow newcomers such as Disclosure, Rudimental and AlunaGeorge.

In an interview with Gigwise when asked whether she thought there would be a female rapper to headline the Pyramid stage of the festival, she replied: "No, because I don't think Glastonbury supports rap music actually."

When Jay-Z headlined Glastonbury 2008, the 'Work' star added, "I think that was with great drudgery that they let that happen, to be honest with you."

However, Azalea revealed she enjoyed her Glastonbury performance, telling us: "It was cool because I was on the hip-I don't think they ever officially said it was the said it was a hip hop stage but I was there - it was all rap music.

"I didn't really feel like I was at a rock festival because I was sectioned off to that tent area and it was all hip hop fans so it felt like I was at a rap show, it was cool."

However in an article for the Independent, the festival co-organiser Emily Eavis defended the decision for Jay-Z against the critics. Saying that the festival is for open minded people, willing to embrace something new as that’s what it’s all about, adding. "With so many smaller music events cropping up, it needs to keep moving and trying new things, whether hip-hop, African music or just an amazing new indie group."

Azalea's new single 'Bounce' was released yesterday. It is currently number 8 in the UK midweeks and No.1 on the hip-hop chart. Click here to download the track.
