Synthpop duo Hurts have had their song 'Exile' extensively remixed and reworked by Freemasons, and the result is a heavy 7 minute floor filler. Listen to the track below.
The song is the title-track from the Manchester band's recent second album, and the remix will be a part of the forthcoming digital EP 'Somebody To Die For'. The EP is currently available to pre-order through ITunes, and will be released on 21 July.
The melodies and lyrics of Exile are worked skillfully into the new version, wrapped around thumping club beats and buried in new textures of electronic bliss. This is Freemasons' second remix of the year, following on from a reworking of 'Heaven' by Depeche Mode. The Sussex duo have released the singles 'Tears', 'Bring it back' and 'Dirty Organ' this year which will feature on their forthcoming album.
