Thom Yorke has tweeted his support for the female climbers who have scaled the monolithic Shard in London today in protest of Shell's arctic drilling plans.
The Radiohead and Atoms for Peace frontman tweeted: "Protesters climbing 'the Shard' London today to piss off Shell. Nice! iceclimb.savethearctic.org".
Yorke and co known for their environmental ideals and he has famously been opposed to the way in which music tours operate due to their detrimental effect on the planet.
The climb is 310 metres and the six female Greenpeace protesters began the stunt this morning, and reportedly the Metropolitan Police were called to scene at around 4.25 AM when the group were accessing the Shard via the roof of London Bridge Station.

The Greenpace shard climbers said: "This building-modelled on a shard of ice- sits slap bang in the middle of Shell's three London headquarters".
The reasons for the protest comes from the growing concern over the multi national oil company's proposed drilling in the Arctic, a region that Greenpeace argue should be protected.
