It's finally here! Yes, at long last, the moment that all of you Little Monsters have been waiting for - Lady Gaga has announced the release of her new album. ARTPOP is on its way - yes, it has to be capitalised.
Today's announcement of the app and the concept of the album aside, it's difficult to work out exactly what's being said about the LP, particularly as Gaga can be very mysterious when she wants to be. From rumoured collaborations to a little bit of herbal influence, there's definitely a lot of speculation around.
We decided to search for everything we know about the album and put it all together for you to have a look at. Don't say we never do anything nice for you...
Check out everything we know about ARTPOP, right here.
It's coming out on 11 November.
Yup, that's 11/11 - no matter what side of the Atlantic you're on, that's good symmetry. Mark that in your calendar.
The single is coming very, very soon
...on 19 August to be precise. With her previous lead singles of 'Just Dance' and 'Born This Way', she has a lot to live up to. Expect an absolute banger.
It comes with an app, a 'BIG BANG' and a HEAVY concept
Gaga described the app that comes with ARTPOP as: "A musical and visual engineering system that combines must, art, fashion and technology with a new interactive worldwide community - 'the auras'. Altering the human experience with social media, we bring ARTculture into POP in a reverse Warholian expedition."
She continues: "Exploring Gaga's existence as a cultural interface, the user will share in the 'adrenaline of fame' as they build and share their own projects, chat with one another, and watch in real-time on a virtual globe as ARTPOP explodes onto the physical an virtual universe at once on November 11, out 'BIG BANG!"
I know, mental - right? She posted this on Facbebook too:
It's going to be 'experimental'
German DJ and producer, Zedd has claimed his work with Gaga on the album 'experimental', but 'pretty f**king cool'. 23-year-old Zedd has revealed that he has worked on 'around five or six' potential tracks for Gaga's Born This Way follow-up which is expected to be released later this year. The German producer told Rolling Stone: "I'm really, really excited for people to hear what we came up with. I just really can't imagine they would not like it, to just say it straight up. I think the stuff we've made is pretty f**king cool."
It might feature the track 'Feel It'
...if it's real and not massively fake
...and these extracts of new tracks
As debuted at a Versace Fashion show earlier this year
It 'pushes the envelope'
Speaking to the New York Daily News earlier this year, Gaga's manager Vincet Herbert labelled ARTPOP "very, very refreshing" and added that the 'Born This Way' star continues to "push the envelope."
Herbert added: "I can’t wait for the world to hear her new music and see her come back healthy, strong and better than ever."
She has given 'everything' to making it
Speaking to Digital Spy earlier this year, French DJ and ARTPOP producer Madeon said, "She's great. She's a really, really interesting and nice person. From a personal standpoint it's been hugely admirational, to be like, 'Wow - you're at this level of super, ultimate fame - and there's this aura of superstardom - and you're still an engaging and nice person'. So that was really humbling. Professionally, I think she's amazing. She would come out of a show after singing live for three hours and giving it everything, but just go straight to the studio and record She would still give everything - even on the demo take! She's really impressive."
She recorded loads of it whilst naked
Having shared images of herself in the buff to hit back at critics, who labelled her fat, it has been reported that Gaga does not just get naked for pictures to post online. Whilst recording 'ARTPOP' Gaga has rarely been seen wearing clothes while in the studio as it apparently makes her voice sound better. OK then.
It may feature a tribute to Edith Piaf
To mark the death of the iconic star, Gaga was rumoured to be in talks with EMI for permission to use nine of Piaf's songs to possibly sample on her tracks. Gaga also plans to purchase the rights to Piaf's first ever filmed performance to be shown during the singer's concerts.
It could feature a song called 'Princess Die'
Rumoured to been inspired by the death of the late Princess Diana, the ballad has become a staple of Gaga's live set as she tours the Born This Way Ball. Gaga revealed that it could end up on the album but as a slow and sad song she has admitted it is not entirely indicative of her latest work.
It could feature a song from 2010
A demo version of 'Nothing On (But The Radio)' was rumoured to be featuring on ARTPOP and these rumours seem to have more worth when Lady Gaga's sound engineer Dave Russell responded to a Twitter query about Gaga's next release saying: 'N O, ;)'. The smiley face says it all.
Song titles!
Titles 'Candy Art', 'Cold Hearted Bitch' and 'CRWTH', have all been officially listed with Broadcast Music Inc, the organisation that collects royalties for musicians. Co-writers listed for the tracks are Paul Blair (also known as DJ White Shadow) Jeppe Laursen (who also worked on Gaga's 'Born This Way' album) and Megan Jaqulinn.
Gaga had issues when writing ARTPOP
In a startlingly honest letter to her fans, Gaga revealed in August that the past twelve months have been amongst the worst of her life. The 'Born This Way' singer said that both professionally and personally many things have gone wrong for her including self-confidence issues about her body image and the betrayal of lifelong friends.
It might feature a collaboration with Azealia Banks
In September last year, Banks said that she had collaborated with Lady Gaga on a new song; however the rapper was unsure whether the track will make it onto ARTPOP. Banks admitted: "I hope it will make her record, but we'll wait and see."
A love letter to cannabis?
Whilst performing in Amsterdam Gaga lit up a spliff on stage and decided to talk about "my current openness about being a cannabis smoker." Adding "I have decided that I want you to know the truth, which is that it has totally changed my life and that I've really cut down on drinking... It's, like, been a totally spiritual experience for me with my music." Totally Gaga, we hear ya.
Sex Dreams?
Tweeting to her fans, Gaga posted, "We could be caught, were both convicted criminals of thought. -Sex Dreams #ARTPOP." While the name maybe isn't the most imaginative, it's more information than we've had in a while.
It's gunna get RISKY!
In a chat on the Little Monsters website, Gaga said, "ARTPOP is very risky... if you're not taking a risk you're not breaking any boundaries." She went on to say that it will be "like an assault... on your mind, ears, body." Sounds interesting!
